Beaujolais Nouveau spa in Hakone, Japan

epa01555784 Japanese men enjoy the glasses of the Beaujolais Nouveau wine as they bathe in a pool of the red wine to celebrate this year’s release of the Beaujolais Nouveau wine during the opening of Beaujolais Nouveau wine spa at the Hakone Yunessun spa resort in Hakone town, one of Japan’s most popular hot spring resorts located some 100kms southwest of Tokyo, Japan, 20 November 2008. Guests enjoyed bathing and swimming in a pool of the red wine at an open-air-wine-spa after the embargo on the wine was removed at midnight on 20 November. Japanese retailers and other businesses are trying to cope with declining popularity and demand for the Beaujolais Nouveau wine in the country by cutting imports, reducing the prices etc. The consumer fad for the Beaujolais Nouveau in Japan is phasing out as many Japanese realize that many other wine varieties taste good and are less expensive.
